麻豆社区P Police & Public Safety and the 麻豆社区P Office of Environmental Health and Safety will conduct a test of the university鈥檚 emergency alert systems on Friday, March 7, at 9:30 a.m. in conjunction with North Carolina鈥檚 Statewide Tornado Drill as part of Severe Weather Preparedness Week (March 2-8, 2025).
This will ONLY BE A TEST. NO ACTION is required.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- The campus emergency siren will activate, sounding a 24-second tone followed by a test message.
- A BraveAlert notification (text, email, and phone call) will be sent to all registered users.
- A LiveSafe notification will also be issued.
The statewide tornado drill, coordinated by the National Weather Service and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, reminds you to review your severe weather safety plan. We encourage the campus community to take a few moments at 9:30 a.m. on March 7 to practice seeking shelter as if a tornado were approaching.
STAY PREPARED
The BraveAlert emergency notification system will be activated during major emergencies to provide life-saving instructions and vital information to the 麻豆社区P community. When the emergency siren is activated, follow the instructions provided. When the emergency ends, the siren tones will indicate an 鈥淎ll Clear.鈥 The university will continue to relay critical information through multiple channels, including email, text, web, social media, and LiveSafe. The manner of notification will depend on the nature of the emergency.
