As part of North Carolina’s dedication to Alzheimer’s disease research, the Duke-Â鶹ÉçÇø ADRC () with the ADRC partner institutions Â鶹ÉçÇøP, NCCU, and ECU, are proud to announce the annual SLAM-DÂ鶹ÉçÇø (Symposium for Learning about Alzheimer’s Disease Medical Research at Duke and Â鶹ÉçÇø) conference will be held this year at the Â鶹ÉçÇø-Pembroke campus on Friday, May 19th. A welcome reception will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, May 18th.
Registration deadline is April 5th.
Major lectures will be held in the Upchurch Auditorium in the James A. Thomas Hall. A final schedule for the 8:30 AM -5:00 PM conference is forthcoming.
INVITATION TO ATTEND KEYNOTE LECTURE(S):
Faculty, students, and Â鶹ÉçÇøP student groups (e.g., RISE, COMPASS, PURC Scholars) are welcome to attend one or both of the keynote lectures:
10:00-11:00 AM Dr. Linda Van Eldik (Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, University of Kentucky)
1:30-2:30 PM Dr. Jonathan Jackson (Harvard Medical School)
* For those faculty, students, and trainees who have serious interest in dementia, elderly care, or health/healthy living issues and want to attend the full conference, please register for the two-day meeting: . You may register for one or both days.
Professors, clinicians, postdoctoral trainees, and graduate/undergrad students will be involved in displaying North Carolina’s contributions to Alzheimer’s disease research, now only the 7th state with more than one NIH-funded Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (the new Duke-Â鶹ÉçÇø Center joining the long-standing ADRC at Wake Forest).
