Dr. Kelly Ficklin is an accomplished educator and administrator with over three decades of experience in elementary education and teacher training. Currently serving as an Associate Professor and Graduate Director at Â鶹ÉçÇø Pembroke, she has previously held various leadership roles, including Program Coordinator of the Elementary Education Undergraduate Program. Dr. Ficklin has spearheaded international study abroad programs, focusing on innovative educational practices and alternative pathways to teacher licensure.
Her academic credentials include a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Â鶹ÉçÇø Wilmington and multiple advanced degrees from Â鶹ÉçÇø Pembroke. She has authored numerous publications and presentations to enhance STEM education, particularly in underrepresented communities.
Recognized for her teaching excellence, Dr. Ficklin has received numerous awards, including the 2021 Outstanding Teaching Award from Â鶹ÉçÇø Pembroke. She actively contributes to professional organizations, including the North Carolina Science Teachers Association, and engages in community service through various educational and church initiatives.
